Ways to Serve

Food Donations

In the wake of the pandemic and the riots in our city, many people are in need of food. The outpouring of initial support was great to see. People are still in need as energy and enthusiasm to help is waning. Some of the damaged stores are still closed. The food donations have decreased. We want to help by being a collection location in this area of the city to aid the churches in those areas supporting their neighborhoods.

Please bring any of the following items to the church or office to help us care for those in the areas impacted most by the riots. We will begin by providing these items to Sanctuary Covenant Church on Lyndale & Broadway in North Minneapolis. The office will be open on weekdays from 8am-12pm.

  • Dry goods (pasta, packaged snacks, etc.)

  • Canned goods (soup, vegetables, fruit)

  • Liquid Laundry detergent

  • Liquid dish soap

  • Cleaning supplies

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Feminine products

  • Shaving products

  • Hand soap

  • Shampoo/Conditioner for textured hair

  • Facial Tissue

  • Toothpaste

  • Tooth brushes

  • Deodorant

  • Bar soap

  • Diapers

  • Pull-ups

  • Baby wipes

  • Baby formula

TIPS FOR MAKING THE MOST OF THIS TIME

Invite a friend to church "with" you

The majority of people check out churches by first visiting online before they ever visit in person. That means that now is the best time to invite someone to church "with" you. Let them know when your church service starts and invite them to watch along with you. Sure, you could share your church's livestream link on social media but personal asks will be much more effective.

Take it Private

Many of us are connecting on social media right now but this is still a "public" space where people are naturally limited in their level of sharing. Next time someone comments on a post you create, why not follow up with a private message asking them how they're doing. Move the conversation to a more private place and it will naturally move to a more personal and deeper place as well.

Prayer Walk

Walking around the neighborhood is quickly becoming America's most popular pastime. Chances are, you're doing it too! Why not use that time to pray for your neighbors that you're walking past?

Check in with others

Go through your contact list on your phone and consider who you might want to reach out to. See if God prompts you to check in with someone on your list - we're all feeling a little isolated and it's always nice to know that people care and are thinking of us.
