Pastor Kory Kleinsasser joined Waite Park Church in July of 2010. He's originally from South Dakota and comes to Minnesota, via Kentucky and Iowa. He graduated from the University of Sioux Falls and went on to Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. From there, he and his family moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where they spent 13 years.
Kory is married to Ann and they have three kids; Emma, Ellie, and Duncan, and a son-in-law, Angel. One of his joys is being a grandfather to Ana and Mateo. When he's not writing sermons, he loves to drink coffee, play basketball, read, hang out with his family or any combination of these.
Family Ministry Pastor
Pastor Abby Burg joined Waite Park Church in August of 2020. She's originally from Wilmington, Delaware, but part of "home" will always be in Burkina Faso, West Africa, where her family served as missionaries. Abby has previously served for seven years in both children's ministries and executive ministries in churches in western New York and Delaware. She graduated from Houghton College with a B.S. in Inclusive Childhood Education with a concentration in Intercultural Studies.
Abby is married to Andrew, her highschool sweetheart. Together they enjoy Saturday morning breakfast dates, ice skating, road trips, and writing postcards to their niece and nephew. Abby loves to bake and reads voraciously on the topics of spiritual formation and leadership with a healthy dose of novels and a sprinkling of psychology and history.
Holly Almhjeld originally grew up in South Dakota and spent several years in the IT field supporting phone and internet services. For a couple of years, she taught English in Beijing, and gained a new outlook on the world. She is currently pursuing a master’s in ministry degree from Wesley Seminary. Holly took the role as Office Administrator to focus on school while serving in ministry. She is currently a leader within our small group ministry and prayer.
Holly enjoys time with her nephews and family, yoga, and knitting when time allows. She is passionate about discipleship, growing in our relationship with God, and getting to know people. She would love to join you for a cup of coffee and connecting with you.
